Good afternoon. I started working on my new entry at Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog this time around things went smoothly and I was able to pull it all together in line with what was asked. So I chose the flowers, buttons, and sparkle. I added a little sparkle to the whole card using sparkle spray. It's hard to show in the picture but trust me it's there. I have flowers obviously from the flower but also on the little pink button which has a rose engraved on it :).

Good morning hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas Eve Eve :). I hope you are having a fabulous week. I wanted to do a quick little post to showcase another magnet I made for a friend of mine. She is a HUGE Jack Skelington fan.

I have it hanging on the fridge until I wrap it so excuse the background. Anyhoo I used my expression to cut the tree and star. I also used embrodery paper from Hobby Lobby. It has a different texture to it which is awesome. Plus, I couldn't pass up the design. I used bakers twine in black and white at the bottom. I also put some ribbon on the gifts.

Good evening everyone. I was at my sisters today enjoying a day of scrappin and snow. While I was there I worked on 15 tags for the kids Christmas gifts. I didn't cut holes in them because I'm just going to tape them onto the gift. One of the stamps I used was from one of my sis's stamp of the month kits from Unity Stamps. Alas another magnet :). I want to try and make one for all the major holidays and will if I can find the time. If not there is always my dads birthday. I have to say that I love crafting/creating. It relaxes me it's definatly cheap therapy. So in todays therapy session I made a Santa Clause magnet for my dad. Good morning everyone. I have 5 papers due this week but I wanted to take a quick little break to post some invitations I worked on. I made 15 individual invitations to my daughters 3rd birthday party. We had a cupcake themed party and she had a blast. Here are two of the invites (I kept to scrap them along with her pictures)

I made a pin the star on the cupcake. The kids painted their own aprons and made their own cupcakes :). Tons of fun and now I get to make thank you cards.

The Simply Betty Stamps are absolutely awesome and so much fun to color. I'm also a huge Burton fan and wish there were more Burton stamps.... maybe James and Beatlejuice. My sisters favorite color is pink so I adjusted Ms. Emily from her traditional colors to pink. I put them on lightweight tiles and voila an awesome gift.

Good morning my crafty friends. Just a quick note as to where I've been and why I haven't posted in quite some time. I am in graduate school and with school and the kids I find myself with very little time for my crafty endevous. That being said my sister, Raven, is having a bloghop to celebrate her (shhhhh don't tell her I said) 30th Birthday and she asked if I would like to participate. She's my favorite sister ever and my best friend so I of course said "YES!". Last year Ray received a present from a crafty friend of hers and since that time I've been wanting to try the idea myself so bam the perfect opportunity to try something new. I do have to tell you all that I haven't had this much fun in a very long time. I'm going to have to find time to continue crafting. Hope to see you on October 28 for some prizes and crafty fun.

Good afternoon everyone. I recently attended a SU class that my sister held. Mary, the SU rep showed us how to make mini picture books. It was awesome and I'll have to post a picture of that soon. Since she took us step by step through the process I wanted to see if I could make one of my own. I used the deep cut blade on my Expression to cut through some cereal boxes (LOVED it!) and then I just added embellishments. It's my first attempt so please be kind :).

I made it for a colleague who is leaving soon. I'm going to put pictures of the crew on the inside so she will always remember us and then I'll add a few more embellishments.

PKS Sketch Challenge 44

Good evening everyone. I know it's been a while but I'm back for a quick post, which never turn out to be that quick. Anywhoo I have started on my Valentines Day cards and my first is using the new Valentines Cupids. I won it while I was hopin on the Peachykeen. PKS, New Release Blog Hop. I was so excited to win a PKS stamp set. They are super cute and fell in love with the lil cupids once I saw them. So I had to wait and use the set to enter the new Sketch Challenge. They gave us a great sketch to work with and added a twist... to use a monochromatic color scheme. So I began by coloring my cupid in shades of grey and then I was going to add another color. Well suddenly it hit me... a friend of mine LOVES black. So I decided to make him a card using shades of grey, black, and white. It doesn't seem very Valentine like but I'm hoping he will appreciate it. :) So here's what I'm entering into the challenge.

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #43

Good morning. Over at the Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge they have a sketch for us to use. I really love PKS, have a ton, love to buy them, and then I hardly use them. It's silly really so I'm going to make more of an effort to get them inked up. I was craftin with my sis again. She was reading her email and a friend had sent her a request to make a card for her daughters 18th birthday. This crafty mom wanted to make it as special as she possibly could and thought it would be a wonderful idea to have her mailbox flooded with birthday cards for her daughter. So I wanted to join in. I put a PKS face where the poodle would normally go. Ain't it cute. LOL.

Good morning all. I started school this week (one set of courses I start the next set next week) and wanted to craft and post before I get super busy. I am really going to try and still craft while school is in session. It's one of my New Years Resolutions. So wish me luck. Anywhoo here is a card I did for the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp Challenge. They asked us for "Time to Unwind.....and that means NO ribbon, NO twine, NO string, trim or lace...no fibres of any kind! Eeek!" Here's what I came up with:

Birthday Card

Good afternoon everyone. I wanted to make a quick post of a birthday card I created for a friend of mine. I had originally created it for two reasons. (1) a birthday card for a friend and (2) as an entry to be a guest designer for The Digi Bells DT. Elisabeth Bell is one of my ALL time favorite stamp designers. I have some of her stamps from almost every collection she designs for and would have loved to have a chance. As it were I didn't get the card made on time so I'll try out next time. I just got my grades this morning which is what I was waiting for to post the giveaway. I took 6 classes this semester (very hard) and I got 3 A's and 3 B's. Woot woot. Priscilla Styles Sketch #2

Good morning scrappin blog buddies. I have a real quick post today. A classmate of mine is in the hospital so I'm going to visit her today. I wanted to bring her a card with flowers, of course, to lift her spirits. I used the same sketch from Priscilla Styles that was used on my snowman card. I also used Tim Holtz blending tool with his and SU ink pads. My favorite paper right now is the new pack from K&Company. There paper is pretty thick for PP and is double sided which I LOVE. So here's what I created:

Again let me apologize for my picture. I tried to take a close up and a pic of the inside but they came out awful so you'll have to take my word for it that it looks nice. On the inside I added a sentiment from SU that says "Praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you, and loving memories to heal your heart." Such a beautiful sentiment and very appropriate. Hmmm so my post wasn't that quick. Here's what I used:

Flaunt it Friday's using a Priscillastyles Sketch

Good afternoon everyone. I wanted to try out the new challenge at Flaunt it Friday's. Here's what they had to say: "This week we chose to Flaunt the SNOWMAN on PAGE 29 FROM WINTER FROLIC cartridge. If you do not own this cartridge feel free to use ANY similar cut from ANY cartridge." Which was a perfect because I own Winter Frolic and haven't gotten a chance to use it as an added bonus the little snowman is super cute. I really like working with sketches because they give me a starting point so I headed over to Priscilla Styles . They always have great sketches. This month they are encouraging us to use 3 past sketches. They also asked us to share a holiday story. Christmas is my FAVORITE holiday. I just love everything about it. So I have tons of stories but one of my favorite childhood memories is baking holiday cookies with my father. My sister and I every year would gather in the kitchen with our father and make an assortment of different cookies. I was just thinking about that this morning and I decided that I want to start doing the same with my little ones. Here's my card using the snowman from Winter Frolic and the sketch from Priscilla Styles:

I used the snowman from Winter Frolic. If you've looked at the snowman on page 29 you would notice that he has arms but I cut mine off. I misplaced my cricut blade so instead I used the cri-kits. I'm really loving these gel pens. I'm going to have to get more.

I used a PKS face from the Medium Critter Faces Set. Pssst PKS is having sales the entire month of December and giving away an AWESOME customer appreciation present to one lucky customer so head on over and check em out.

Flaunt it Friday's... New Challenge Blog

Good evening all. I'm gearing up for Thanksgiving this year because it's at my house. So I wanted to make a quick post for a few things. The first being what I am thankful for:

1. My beautiful/talented/funny/amazing children. They are the loves of my life.

2. I am in the final year of my bachelors for Social Work for that I am blessed. One to have found my major (it honestly seems like it was designed just for me) and two that through it all I endured and am finally close enough to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

3. My family. They have been there for me through it all and are a blessing.

4. For all of the little things in life. It's weird what we just take for granted. I was doing laundry today and was thinking to myself.... wow this time last year I didn't have a washer and dryer in my house. I also didn't have a shower head. I only had a tub. So I am greatful that I am able to have Thanksgiving at my house this year and I am greatful for the roof over my head. :)

The second thing that I wanted to post is I just discovered a NEW challenge blog. It's called Flaunt it Friday's (Isn't the name just perfect!!!) They are starting on December 3rd and it is going to be a ton of different ways to flaunt our cricut machines. I am super excited since I love my cricut and am always looking for new ways to improve and expand my skills.So head on over to their blog and be sure to follow them so you can join in on the fun.

I was able to spend some time with my sis last night and make a card for my friends sons birthday party. He's turning 11 so I wanted to try to keep it grown up. I didn't use a sketch or enter my card in any challenges because I already had a vision. Can't wait to hear ya'lls comments. Side note: my sis posted the pics that she took since I recently broke my digi camera. Hope ya'll have a great Thanksgiving Holiday with your loved ones. ;)

Make a Wish Foundation

Good afternoon everyone. I just got done with the Peachy Keen Blog Hop Winter Release. If ya'll haven't been introduced to Peachy Keen you are going to love the hop and hopefully you'll win some stamps to try em out. I have a PKS wish list that I've just added a few more stamp sets to. :) I also wanted to let ya'll know about one special stamp set from the new release. It is in honor of Lisa's two children who died in a traggic car crash in 2007.

Here is what Lisa wrote about the new set: Awhile back Kathy from Peachy Keen Stamps called me and told me that she has designed a stamp set of two angels in memory of my children who passed away in a tragic car accident Feb. 19, 2007 at the ages of 3 & 5. It has been a horrible struggle to deal with this loss but when someone does something kind like this I am just blown away. Of course I was crying like a baby (much like I am doing now ). She also knew that I sell things to help raise money for several children's charities ever since my kids passed away. So not only did she design the set in honor of my children she is donating $15 of the sale of this stamp set to the charity of my choice. I will be picking the Make-A-Wish foundation to help grant children's wishes that are extremely ill. What is great about this, is that I have already spoken to the Chapter in my area and I will be able to know the story on the child (hopefully more than one)and the wish we were able to grant. I can't imagine what goes on in a child's head when they are facing such a horrible battle but I can see the smile on their face when they get their wish fulfilled. Not only will they have forever memories, their families will to. No parent should ever have to see their child suffer.

Ahhh I haven't gotten to sit and scrap for a while. I've been wanting to all weekend and finally got my chance. I got in some new Christmas Magnolia and Cat's Life Press not to long ago and so this morning I finally put them together. Here's what I came up with:

Just a Quick Update

Ahhhh how I miss you all!!! I'm back in school and have been for a moment which means I'm super, super, ubber busy and have absolutely no time for crafting. Good grades and dinner for the kiddo's takes presidence right now but.... I must make time. This is my sister's birthday month and over at her blog she is having a month long celebration including weekly challenges and prizes. The first challenge is to send a/some/many cards to our troops serving oversees. Serving 7 years in the military myself this is a challenge close to my heart so I must find the time to make a few cards. It really is a great cause and troops receiving our homemade cards that they can send home to their families makes their day. Very Vintage: Cute Card Thursday, Simon Says Stamps & Show and Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!

Good evening. I recently bought 3 Kraftin Kimmie Stamps (They are my first and I can't wait to get more). It was just in time for this weeks challenge. They teamed up with Cute Card Thursday and are sponsoring their challenge this week. Perfect two ways to win more Kraftin Kimmie's. Then at Simon Says Stamp and Show which asked for anything Lord Tim Holtz inspired. At the local Hobby Lobby they had Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads for 50% off; welcome to the world of Tim Holtz.

I've recently seen people coloring their stamps all in one color. The brown is supposed to give it an old photo feeling. It's my first attempt and didn't go over perfectly but I'm definatly going to give it another go.

I used a Tim Holtz ink pad to add color to the background of the marker paper. I also used a Tim Holtz ticket.

I bought new flowers from Michael's. They were also 50% off. I couldn't beat that and just had to try them.

Lace is from Hobby Lobby (Did you guess... 50% off)

The piece of brown paper behind Gabrielle is embossed with a SU embossing folder.

The lace on the side is also the lace used under Gabrielle's dress.

ABC Christmas Challenge

ABC Christmas Challenge provided us with a really cool sketch this week that is what it says Quick and Easy. Who doesn't love that??? I actually set up 5 cards but was only able to finish up 2 of them this morning and wanted to post something. I will post the other 3 later this week. Here they are:

What I used:

*I used my brand new LOTV (Lili of the Valley) set. I adore them all and stamped them all but could only get 2 of them all colored in. For those of us in the states Simon Says Stamps is carrying the sets right now. Love them and will now get the other 3. Hopefully they will start carrying the individual stamps.

*Flocking powder on both of the cards. It's perfect to add demension and fur.

Lil Lolita with a Saturday Sketch

Hello all. I have had my 20's Evie from Tickled Pink Stamps colored for a couple of days but today I finally put her on a card. At the Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge they asked us for POLKA DOTS. The winner gets a 15$ Voucher to spend in the store and who wouldn't love that??? I then went over to Sketch Saturday to get a sketch idea. I just like having a sketch to work with. I didn't know you could enter their sketch challenge 3 different times with 3 different projects. Very cool and I might just take them up on that offer. So here's my card:

I colored Ms. Evie with my copics and then paper pieced her with the background paper I used. I added a sentiment from Tim Holtz. I am loving these movie tickets. I used both SU paper and some from a new paper pack I just picked up. Can't wait to see what ya'll think. :), V

Scrappin Sunday

Good afternoon everyone. I haven't posted in a few days but I have been productive. My sister has a monthly scrapin day. It's awesome company and just an overall feel good party :). Her theme was Summer which was perfect because I have pictures from the summer that I haven't put in a book yet. She gives us 3 different ideas and then we run with them. The first is a scrapbook double layout.

It's not the best picture but I couldn't see into my camera to get it right. She had everything pre-loaded into design studio for us. We used Stretch Your Imagination and From My Kitchen. Then we made a card and a candy bag:

To create these lovelies we used Stretch Your Imagination, My Pink Stamper Stamps, and Peachy Keen Stamps. I'm going to give the candy bag to my son tomorrow for his first day of school. Here's a picture of the ladies (minus me someone has to take the pics):

Totally Tilda

I've been working on this card for a few days now. I've been feeling under the weather since Monday and then BAM on Wednesday all I could do was sleep. Well rather all I could do is wish I was sleeping. Can't accomplish much of that with a tiny one who is full of energy. I started the card on Tuesday and finished it today. It's for my 5 year old niece who is starting Kindergarden. I wanted to make her something nice and attach it to a present so she'll feel special on her special day. At http://totallytilda.blogspot.com/ they asked for a shape card ....But NO Squares OR Rectangles and NO Easel cards !!!!!! So I cut a shape with my cricut and it totally didn't work so I cut another one and I like it. So here it is...

I used my Heritage Cartidge for the cricut to cut a school house. All the paper is from Stampin Up. I also used some cute little flowers I picked up from Michael's. They were on sale of course. I also used my only Tilda. I just ordered more from 7kidscollegefund.com and I can't wait til they come in. I have an idea in my head for one of them already. I colored her with my copics. It's cute and simple but I like it. On the inside I put a quote from Dr. Seuss Oh the Places You'll go. I'm getting choked up just writing this post. I can't believe my little niece is starting another journey. Ahhh they just grow up to quick. :), Vanessa

7 Kids College Fund First Challenge

If you've been reading my blog you might notice I talk about a few stamp companies A LOT. One of those is http://www.7kidscollegefund.com/ awesome online shop that has TONS of stamps and accessories. I love them and have for a while. It just so happens they put together a challenge blog http://7kidschallengeblog.blogspot.com/ and are having their first challenge as we speak. Sugar Bowl 1st Challenge

I am so excited to have completed my first challenge at The Sugar Bowl. I ordered my first two Elisabeth Bell Sugar Nellie stamps from Funky Kits. They are a Scottish company. I expected the shipping to take a lot longer but it was very fast. Anywhoo on to the challenge and card. The challenge to choose any sketch we'd like from the sketch gallery. I picked sketch 1. It's for my neice. Her birthdays in September and school is started next month so I'm getting a head of all my card making before then. Everything (except Daisy) is thanks to my sister. Christmas Card

Yippee I got some fabantabulous news this afternoon. My grades are in the system from the summer semester and I earned two A's and a B. It was hard because of the reduced time but well worth it. I rewarded myself by making a card with my newly received Sugar Nellie stamps. I ordered two from Funky Kits. I inked up both of them but have only colored one so far. I am making it my goal to buy and use more stamps with little boys in them. I have a boy and a girl but since I'm a girl I'm partial to buy all girlie stamps. So the first stamp is Elisabeth Bell Trimming the Tree. He's adorable. At ABC Christmas Challenge this week their challenge is P for Present. Trimming the Tree doesn't come with any presents so I added some with the Greeting Farms Chef Ian. It's a great set and has so many different additions. One of them happens to be a present. I then headed over to Priscilla Styles who always has some great sketches. I then put it all together and voila:

At Fantabulous Cricut Challenge. They challenged us to cut any animal from any cartridge. So I used my Create a Critter Cartidge. So flippin cute this cartidge is (I'm channeling Yoda). WoW 3 Cards in One Day

{{{{{HAHAHA!!!! I guess I was tired because I didn't quite do what the Pink Elephant asked. I promise to do better next time :).}}}}}

I'm pretty impressed with myself and definatly making up for lost time. I got home this eve and thought... Hmmm I'd really like to make a card right now but I'm just to tired. Then I went over to the Colour Create Challenge Blog. They have the most delicious color challenge incooperating warm pinks, chocolate and white. That made me think of one of my newest stamps from Whiff of Joy - Melinda Blowing Kisses. It's just precious and have been wanting to ink it up since the minute I picked it up from the mailbox. I'm getting ahead of my card making before school starts up again. First, is my dad's birthday card. I used the challenge at Cards for Men. They asked us to create a card for a man with 1 image, 2 papers and 3 embellishments. I'm really loving the new colors at Stampin Up. I wasn't sure about them but they are fabulous and fit so well together. Which is probably why I didn't use any patterned paper. I chose an image from Mo's Digital Pencil. At the Peachykeen Stamps Challenge they have a sketch for us to try. My sister hipped me to them as well. What a great sister. It relaxes me and I need the relaxation before I begin work again on a paper. I bough my first, and only so far, Whiff of Joy stamp a couple of weeks ago. It's my birthday month so for my birthday my bestfriend (who also happens to be my sister) bought me a Cricut. She's had her's for a while now and I never really got it. I definatly "GET IT" now. They are awesome and I've gone a little mad purchasing a ton of cartidges. It's a little addicting. She also hipped me to a few blogs that feature the Cricut. One of those is My Creative Time. Emma is the owner of this site and has Throwback Thursdays and this week she's using the cartidge Wild Cards. It just so happens that I fell in love with it and had to get it. Yippee!!! Which of course reminds me of the movie and I feel like singing the song. :) Anywhoo they are having a fabulous contest at their site and giving away a ton of really wonderful stuff in celebration of being published. So they asked me (alright alright us) to think of something using our favorite shoes. I of course am a shoe fanatic and knew I had to help them celebrate and I also wanted to scrap my shoes to remember years from now what I loved. So here it is...

This of course is only a few of my favorite shoes. I then included a picture of my daughter because poor thing she already has 7 pairs of shoes at 1 1/2. Hmmm I know she doesn't need all of them. I bought a paper piercing tool not to long ago and hadn't used it yet. So I drew a picture of one of my shoes, scanned it, then paper pierced it in the upper left hand corner. I just recently got back to scrappin but I'm pleased with the end result. Hope you enjoy and I'd love to see some of your favorite shoes.

1st Christmas Card

I had every intention of making a Christmas Card a week throught the year so that I would be able to enjoy the holiday season. Well this last Christmas I made so many so close together that I got a little burnt out on making them. Christmas is my FAVORITE holiday and I've been itchin to make a card for a while now. During the Memorial Day weekend I bought a snowman stamp set from Peachy Keen and a I also bought Ms. Tilda from 7kidscollegefund. I then decided that I wanted to make a Christmas card with Tilda so I added the hat from peachy keen and voila here is my first Christmas Card. Phewww that was a long story. Super Sam

He was just diagnosed with Stage 3 Lymphoma and I wanted to send him out a card ASAP. If you'd like to send Sam a card please read my earlier post. I am challenging all you talented ladies to help little Sam fight Cancer. Sam is a wonderful and strong 5 year old boy. His battle with Cancer is just beginning. He was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lymphoma this week. He has a very tough fight ahead of him. I would love everyone to join me in helping Sam fight this and WIN! Sam will be in the hospital for many months. I am starting a campaign to fill his days with tons of cards from all over the globe. What fun for Sam to know that people from all sides of the Earth are supporting and thinking about him. I am going to give him a map book and a ton of stickers. He will put a sticker on each location that his cards come from. How awesome would it be to cover the whole Earth with stickers from people supporting Super Sam. This will be a great adventure for Sam to watch the LOVE and SUPPORT from every corner of the globe. Lets each set a personal goal of one card a month, one card a week, or one card a day.

Keep them coming so he never stops looking forward to the next card delivery.

Great Weekend

What an absolutly wonderful weekend. I actually had a little bit of time and was able to spend it with my best friend (my sis), my beautiful lil ones, and had some time to scrap. What more could I ask for??? I made 3 cards this weekend. Two for a couple challenges and one I haven't posted yet but it'll be out on the 12th of March over at Scrap the Art hope to see you there.

Now onto my newest card. Over at Mo's Digital Pencil the challenge is a color challenge using only blue, brown and a neutral. I absolutely LOVE Mo's images and I haven't been blogging in so long that I had to enter into this one. I also like using sketches. It just makes it a little easier for me. I found my sketch at Midnight Madness Challenge it's a weekly tuesday challenge. They have amazing inspiration you should check em out.

I finished all four of my midterms yesturday and I think I deserve a little me time so I woke up before the kids this morning to make a card. I snagged the layout from The Sweet Stop Sketches . Then I headed over to Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog . They are primarily a Stampin Up challenge blog which is perfect since I've recently become a bit of a Stampin Up Snob. They asked for something for a child.

Here is what I used:

The image is a digi you can get from Mo's Digital Pencil . Her images are absolutely amazing. I'm a designer at Scrap the Art and when you enter into our current challenge you will get the chance to win 3 of Mo's images.

Copics ( I splurged just a little this month): Y15, B63, BG05, YG06, V04, V09, C-3, E37, E33, 100 and RV04.

The paper is all Stampin Up.

I also used a SU stamp set: Dream Gardens. I used all but one stamp from that set.

Everything is inked with SU in color markers.

Yaaahh!!! I got a wonderful present in the mail today... Inkadinkado clear stamps from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. They were a customer appreciation prize... How awesome is that??? So excited and I can't wait to ink 'em up. It's going to be a minute I have tons to do to get ready for our up coming move and with school starting next week but when I do I'll be sure to post. :), V

Black and White

This is my first black and white card. I had originally wanted to try the idea so I looked for a sketch and found the perfect one at Delightful Sketches I flipped it and left out the bow but I still like it. The idea to stamp on the ribbon came from 365 Cards who asked us to stamp on ribbon. I needed to do another thank you card so I used the thank you sentiment and am entering it into Creative Inspirations who requested a Thank You card. I went to Design Dollies. They have some great prizes up for grabs and only one more day to compete for them. I completed their elements challenge asking for 9 buttons or more. The flower has two buttons in the center a black and a white and 7 buttons framing the card... 9 buttons yaaahh!!! This also fits into the black tie affair at Humble Pie Stamps they requested a creation in black and white with an added accent color if you must. Last but certainly not least I'm entering it into My Time to Craft who said "Anything Goes". I used retired SU stamp Love Without End to make the patterned paper in the background, the stamping and sentiment on the ribbon. WOW so this is the first time I've entered into 6 challenges at once. Pretty proud of myself. This is also the first time I've made a 4x4 card. I tend to make them larger but I like it and may have to try that size again. So let me first say that my camera is taking some funky pictures because Marilyn's eyes in person do not look so cat like :). I did this for the challenge at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #34 they have amazing sketches over there so I had to do it. They seem to have a victorian/antique feel to them which I love so I tried to channel them and come up with my own. I promise I followed the sketch to a T it's just Marilyn is covering up the brads on the bottom. Hope it still works. Marilyn is also from an earlier project and had printed 2 of them. I used one of them and the 2nd I couldn't bear to throw away so I kept her knowing I'd get to use her soon. At 365 Cards: Day 306 they asked us to "dig deep into that stash and find something that has been waiting for this challenge." TahDah! I'm partial because Marilyn is my favorite but I like it. So the paper I got from... my sister. The brads I got from Walmart in the Crop-A-Dile. The flowers I got from my sis and they were white and in one flower. So I took them apart then used Pixie Pink and colored them and then stacked them. I like it and am now going to have to get more white flowers so I can dye them. I used glitter on Marilyn's jewels and colored in the flower, the leaves, part of her hat, and her eyes with colored pencils. I hope you enjoy. V

I have been wanting to use this digi since I won him from Splendid Stamping with the Greeting Farm It's my very first and so far my only prize. Again I was on Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge and noticed that I still had time to do sketch 32 which is an awesome sketch so I had to try it. Everything except for the buttons (Walmart) I got from Hobby Lobby. Isn't the ribbon awesome!!! Got it for $1.00 folks. Seriously I love it and you can't beat the price. So now I'm done for the day. I found this really cool website today and wanted to try out their sketch. With it I got to use my new 1.00 ribbon from Hobby Lobby so I was totally stoked. The sketch is at Priscillastyles It looked like a difficult but great sketch and I'm not one to walk away from a challenge. The 2nd Challenge I'm entering my card in is at Papertake Weekly Challenge. They asked for a "Thank You" and I have tons of those I need to do so it gave me the perfect opportunity to complete my first of many. I used ribbon from Hobby Lobby... can't beat the 1.00 ribbon (I got 5 rolls so I'm sure you'll see the rest soon), the sentiment is thanks to my sis (I need to make her a thank you card!!!), the background pink paper is from Hobby Lobby, and the printed paper is thanks again to my sis. Last Christmas Card

I made this using the day 4 sketch at The Greeting Farm. It's 12 days of sketches you should head on over to check it out!!! I also made this for Anyone for Anya who asked for one last Christmas Card of the season. I had originally made Ian Laddie for my father and step mum but then I misplaced it and so I made another one using the same stamp. Hope they like it. I made some more patterned paper using various stamps on both the green cardstock. I then stamped Ian onto patterned paper and cut out his hat, scarf, and kilt. I colored him using colored pencils. Father's Anniversary Card

I made this card for my father's 13th Wedding Anniversary. I like following sketches because I'm new to all of this and it helps. So I followed the sketch from Sketchy Thursday. I then used the idea from Allsorts Challenge Blog They asked for Pearls and Swirls which was perfect because the sketch had swirls in it which I drew and embossed with gold. I then put some pearls next to the flower pot. I also embossed the vase with the same gold. The gold idea came from Sassy Designs by Susie they asked for a touch of gold. I used flowers (of course) and got the "Love Is..." from the internet and then printed the entire passage for the inside of the card. I also used the crop a dile to add the gold to bottom of the card. I'm looking forward to all of your wonderful comments. Hope your having a wonderful weekend, V

They have an awesome new color challenge. They gave us Mardi Gras colors: Green, Purple, and Yellow. I thought it would be fun to use the bright traditional colors of mardi gras. Once I finished it doesn't look like mardi gras at all :). I followed the sketch from http://peachykeenstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2009/12/peachy-keen-stamps-challenge-18.html I also used a peachy keen stamp. It's the flower pot from PK243. The sentiment is from SU from the "Three Little Words" set. The paper I used on the flower and the border I got from my very generous sister :). My butterflies I've had forever and used them only a couple times. At first they were flat and one dimensional so I layered them and love the affect. I created this tag to attatch to a thank you gift bag for my son's teacher and it just so happens to fit it with the challenge at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle, Saturdays Challenge which was to create a shaped card not using a square or rectangle: http://ssdschallenge.blogspot.com/2009/12/ssds-week-19-shaped-challenge.html I used Princess Ava from the Greeting Farm. Peachykeen Challenge

This is for this weeks Peachy Keen Challenge. They asked for polka dots (which is on the ribbon), a border (plain red border), stripes (on the background to "Can't Catch Me"), and a stamped image (PK243). I used a peachy keen face on my gingerbread man who I cut with the cricut. I also used the cricut to cut the gingerbread house and the cop car. I embossed snow on the gingerbread house. My kids spilled lucky charms on the living room floor and instead of throwing them away I lined my gingerbread house with them. This is the first of many thank you bags for my kids teachers. I'm looking forward to comments :).

Marilyn Monroe Tag

Honestly, I only blog hopped for a minute today but in the process I found this FABULOUS site called "Something Completely Different" and their challenge was to make a tag using Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn is my absolute favorite celebrity so of course I had to complete it. Funny thing is I also need to make tags for some thank you bags I'm putting together for my daughter and son's teachers. Now that I've finished her I don't want to give her away :)

I used colored pencils to add a bit of color to her, some glitter for her necklace and earings, ribbon, buttons and of course my favorite... flowers. I really enjoyed completing this project. Thank you for the fabulous idea and I'm anxiously awaiting your next challenges.

Here's thank you card #2. I used the three simple words stamp from Stampin Up! which I used for the sentiment, and the tulips (aren't they lovely!!!), I drew the grass and used a stamp pad to color the background grass, I embossed the butterfly and used pastels for the tulips, the "thanks so much", and flowers.

Here's another Christmas card. I made one for my mom and now one for my sister. I'm entering it into two challenges:

Anyone for Anya: "you can make whatever your heart desires...just be sure to include an image from The Greeting Farm." This is my newest purchase, Miss Anya Autumn. She was so much fun to color and I love her stylish outfit. I added a bit of sparkle to her boots.

Inspirational Card Sketchers: I followed their sketch which was fun. They used three circles in the corner which gave me the idea to stand Ms. Anya next to a snowoman. :)

I embossed the snowflakes in the background and also Ms. Anya's scarf. I added a bit of sparkle to her boots using glitter. I used the Crop-A-Dile for a touch of detail. Bottons were used make Ms. Snowoman (notice the hat). The hat is a retired stamp from Stampin Up! I colored her with colored pencils. Hope you enjoy...

I made "Rosa" for my mom for Christmas. I'm sure she'll love her!!! I also made this card for a few challenges they are:

Stamp Something - they asked for something "glitzy" which was so much fun!

Challenge #9 at Mo's Digital Pencil - the requirements were to create a Christmas card for someone special. I just found Mo's digi's and have fallen in love.

I embossed both the snow flake and the sentiment (which I got from Stampin Up). I used some embellishments on the flowers and put them on buttons to try something new. I used glitter on "Rosa's" dress and colored her with colored pencils. The ribbon was given to me by my wonderful sister. I might have to color her again and use glitter on all the layers of her dress.
